Blue Dolphin Families,

It is that time of year to register for the ASA Divisional Championship at Georgia Tech. It is a really fun experience for those of you who have not seen it. The kids are in awe when they see the olympic sized pool and the record board with so many olympic medalist on it!

Divisionals consists of the qualifying round which will take place on Wednesday, June 26th at 3pm.  This usually lasts around 2 hours.  It is a condensed version of a regular meet with 2 pools with 10+ lanes going at the same time.  It moves very quickly.  Our bull pen will be in a section of the bleachers where the kids and parents can sit together and watch the action.  6 and under swimmers will swim all events at the beginning of the meet so they will be done earlier as usual. The next portion of the championship is the finals which will take place on Saturday, June 29th starting at 8am.  The finals section is for the top 10 qualifying relays in each age group and the top 30-40 swimmers in each event depending on age group.  If you can attend Wednesday but cannot attend Saturday you can still participate, but Mary-Claire will have to know ahead of time so that we are not penalized. We will not know who has qualified until the final sessions are complete on Friday and all times are entered.

The coaches will offer an extra practice for the swimmers participating in divisionals on Tuesday 6/25.

There is a fee of $23 per swimmer that we will be covering with swim team dues this year.   Parking at Georgia tech will need to be covered by each family.

The RSVP for this meet is now open and is due by next Thursday 6/19.

Please let me know if you have any specific questions.
